What a perfect metaphor for inner work. When we resist, shut down, or check out and move away from something that causes us discomfort instead of moving into it we don't get the fruits of a life well lived.
The homework is to look at the places in our lives where we are running and hiding when we could be courageously walking forward into the experience for better or worse. How can we wake up each moment instead of hiding from our power? How can we wake up instead of hiding from that which creates fear inside of us? What would it look like to turn and face every storm that shows up? What resources do we have to succeed in this environment?
